While the NBA season doesn’t start for another couple of months, Ed Pinckney is already teaming up with Philadelphia 76ers play-by-play broadcaster Marc Zumoff. Recently hired as the new color analyst for the 76ers, Pinckney sat down for a minutes with Zumoff on CSN Philly to discuss what he’s been up to recently, what he will bring to the broadcast booth, and his thoughts on the upcoming season for the 76ers.
The above link will take you to the video page for Comcast SportsNet. Click on the Sixers Tab and the interview is from “9/1-Marc Zumoff talks with new color analyst Ed Pinckney.”

So, Dwayne Anderson’s debut didn’t go as planned, and now I almost feel as though I jinxed him with my preGame post. But I’m pushing forward with this anyways. After a stellar debut, Dante and the Trailblazers take on the Houston Rockets tonight at 10 p.m. EDT in the NBA Summer League.
CLICK HERE to go to the online video player index, and scroll down to find Portland vs. Houston.
In case you missed Dante’s first outing, check out Brian’s reports HERE and HERE to read about how he’s turning heads already.
…As meaningless as the Summer League is in the grand scheme of the real NBA season, this is the time where fringe players and rookies make a name for themselves and make the roster…hopefully Dante continues to shine…

Courtesy of reader Larry Harris, we believe we now have an outlet to watch our boys play in the Summer League. Larry relayed this site to us and reported that he was able to watch Dante Cunningham’s first game. It looks like there is a justin.tv link available for Dwayne Anderson’s game with the Wizards tonight.
CLICK HERE for the index where you can search for the game amongst a list, or you can CLICK HERE for the direct link into the game. Game time is 6:30 p.m. EDT.
…I won’t be able to watch the game tonight but I’m positive Brian will be all over the recap of the game…any reports on issues with the video and/or quality would be appreciated in the comments below…Enjoy!…

Lost in the hoopla of the Final Four is the McDonald’s All-American game. The game tips off at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN. Villanova recruits Maalik Wayns and Dominic Cheek will be playing for the East team.
With a hat tip to VUHoops, here are some pictures from practice earlier in the week.

Jay Wright took some time to talk with Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilbon from ESPN’s ‘Pardon The Interruption’ today. Unfortunately, the video is only available through ESPN Insider, so all I can give you right now is a link if you have an Insider account.
You can watch the video here.
…Usually ESPN releases these to the general public in a few days, so I’ll keep looking for it…

Awful Announcing has the news on what broadcast teams will be calling the Sweet Sixteen games, and you’re going to be happy (at least I think you will). Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery have been assigned to the East Regionals, and will call Villanova’s clash with Duke on Thursday night.
For what it’s worth, Dick Enberg and Jay Bilas (who announced ‘Novas first games) will be in the West.
…I don’t know what is is, but it seems that year after year Gus Johnson gets the short end of the stick…I was almost certain that if he didn’t get the East (by far the most intriguing set of games) that he’d get to do Gonzaga…you know since it feels like he’s called all of their games…
…Anyways all I have to say to this news is ONIONS!…

Last week the announcing pairings for the NCAA Tournament were released, and now the always reliable Awful Announcing has let us know what fans will suffer.
Philadelphia has drawn the team of Dick Enberg or Carter Blackburn and Jay Bilas. I’m not really sure what “or” means. Has Enberg been around so long that he can just show up if he’s in the mood? And I don’t recall ever hearing Blackburn call a game. But sign me up for Blackburn, because I’m no fan of Enberg.
Hard to be upset with Bilas. He loves ‘Nova and he’s always got great insight into the game regardless of what’s going on. Plus, him and Digger Phelps nearly brought Dick Vitale to tears last night. So he’s got years of free passes for that.

Villanova signees Mouphtaou Yarou and Isaiah Armwood join their Montrose Christian teammates as they take on the famed Oak Hill Academy. The game is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and will be aired by ESPN2.
…This is a good chance for us to see Yarou and Armwood since they were not selected to the McDonald’s game…the game itself should be a good one as well, and there are some other players to keep an eye on for the future, especially Terrence Ross and Justin Anderson of Montrose…

ESPN analyst Len Elmore loves to say these players have economy. He’s used it 10 times in one rant to describe Dwayne Anderson.
“He’s very economic. He’s got 17 and doin it with economy. He’s not playing a lot of minutes but whats he’s giving them is economy. Very economic player.”
…Really…really…lets think of another word Len…
