Still sucks about Scottie though. This team could have used the boost to their psyche after the past couple weeks. Let's hope it still provides a lot of motivation. Being from Syracuse and having a lot of friends that are now SU alums, I'd love another crack at them.

I'm not angry that Scottie didn't win. If it was to go to a 'Cuse player, it should've been Rautins. Johnson was very good for them early on, but Rautins has been their best player the whole year. Rautins is the one who got snubbed.

I have no issue with coach of the year. It was either him or Dixon.

I'm not saying Boeheim doesn't deserve coach of the year, because he most certainly does. I'm saying that Johnson doesn't get POY because there was some void where a suitable candidate could be drawn from so that it would make sense to just take the best player from the best team.

I dont think anybody on Syracuse's roster was highly recruited. Say what you want about Boeheim and Syracuse but i'm very impressed with how well they play together. Also, isnt recruiting part of being a successful coach?

You look at the talent levels on the team. Losing Devendorf/Harris/Flynn was a great group of talent however what cuse brought in was head over heels better than Pitts roster and recruitment for 2010.

Boeheim did a nice job putting together a bunch of 4 and 5 stars into a elite program. Pitt had to make 3 stars become a top program after losing what I would agrue as a more talented group than what Cuse lost in Blair/Fields/and old big lips.

Yeah, but it's still crap. It's a load of crap, in fact. Syracuse might be the team of the year and Boeheim the coach of the year, but that doesn't make Johnson the player of the year by default. He's having a good but not statistically overwhelming season; Syracuse is one of those "the whole is greater than the sum of their parts" teams like we were last year. This award is comparable, statistically and otherwise, to Dante getting the award for his work last year (with the exception that Johnson will probably be a lottery pick -- to which I say, "Whoopdeedoo," this is college ball).

This is a load of horse hockey. I would thoroughly enjoy the Cats steamrolling through the BE tourney with Scottie going for 35 at least once now, just to exorcise this horrible bitterness that I have.

Come on NOVA fans....let's not go there. Follow's Scottie lead on this and lets focus on the BE Tournament and the Big Dance.

http://www.philly.com/dailynews/sports/colleges/20100310_With_postseason_ahead__Villanova_s_Reynolds_won_t_dwell_on_Big_East_awards.html

"If Reynolds was disappointed, the 6-2 senior guard did not show it. He was his normal, cordial self as he addressed the media before practice."

“Yeah, I think that would be any player who took their team to win in a league that’s been very good all year,” Reynolds said. “They’re very deserving of that. I wouldn’t just say that about myself. I would say that about anybody that put their team in that position.”

Ultimately Scottie is taking the fall here for the team's lackluster finish.
