“Villanova finished the game with a 387-84 margin in total offense yards. The Wildcats held the ball for nearly 36 minutes of the game and didn’t allow New Hampshire to pick up positive offensive yardage for the game until late in the third quarter.”

Villanova beat the brakes off of New Hampshire today in the FCS quarterfinals this afternoon. I couldn’t watch the game, but I watched on GameCast and saw that John Dempsey returned a fumble for a touchdown on the first play of the game. It was over from there.

On a day where the snow came down like the game was in Green Bay, the Wildcats asserted themselves from the get-go and never made this a close game. We’re on to the semi-finals to face William & Mary next Friday or Saturday (game-time TBA).

Apologies for the abbreviated post. I wasn’t able to see the game. That should change next weekend. Go Cats!

I watched on ESPN 360. Most amazing game I’ve seen at Nova with all the snow. Great coverage by ESPN. Not much of a game to watch as nova was in control for most of the game.

Our defense played well. In fact, we’re very good against the run. We give up a lot of big passing plays however. That didn’t hurt us yesterday in the snow, of course, but I am a little worried about how we would fare against AppState/Montana, which are teams very capable of airing it out. Our gameplans need to be similar to what we did against Delaware, probably: get to the quarterback and hope for a big turnover.
