ZagsBlog is reporting that Villanova is one of 8 in-home visits that Cory Joseph has on the docket in the next few weeks. According to Zagoria, Jay Wright and staff will be in to see him sometime next week.cory joseph portrait

Joseph is a 2010 combo guard. Villanova’s 2010 class already has James Bell and Markus Kennedy in the fold.

…I like it, but I’m still kind of torn on what is happening with our recruiting…Joseph is a great, great player and as a guy who can play the point and the wing, he’s got a lot of value…so I guess if he wants to come, you celebrate…but how does that affect 2011, or even James Bell for that matter?…

…A lot of this depends on what happens with Corey Fisher I suppose…

…Oh the problems of a well-established program…

I want Joseph bad. He and Bell are different players. Bell is a slasher and can score on the break and plays well above the rim. His build and athleticism make him a natural 3. Joseph is either a 1 or a 2 and can spell fisher/waayans at the 1 or play in the backcourt w/ them at the 2. My one worry is that we are recruiting all high level recruits who may want to come in and be the man and not willing to wait their turn in the rotation and we could see a couple of transfers. See Casiem Drummond, Malcom Grant and Bilal Benn. Jay does a great job recruiting but we have lost 1 transfer each of the past 3 years. None of those mentioned are much of a game changer, except for Grant who I still wish would have gotten more minutes, but if they are leaving a have a gut feeling that someone will be thrilled to take on a transfer of some of these latest recruits quality. Go get Joseph!
