Thanks to YouTube user NovaBasketball a.k.a. Sean for recreating a classic Michael Jordan commercial. If this doesn’t give you chills, check your pulse.

I know its early but any projections on who will be our starting five? Also will any of the new freshman decide to red shirt?

We will probably talk about that more as the season approaches but if I had to guess:

G – Corey Fisher
G – Scottie Reynolds
F – Reggie Redding
F – Taylor King
C – Mouphtaou Yarou

If anyone were to redshirt my best guess would be Isaiah Armwood but I honestly don’t know at this point. A lot can happen between now and and November.

Reynolds, Redding, and Yarou are all locks for starting positions. The other two spots are wildcards. Corey Fisher is the best player talent-wise, but he could come off the bench again next year and still get 30 minutes a game. I’m going to predict Taylor King and Corey Stokes will be starters when the season starts.

I like Yarou, but I doubt the freshman starts at the beginning of the year.

I like

G – Fisher
G – Reynolds
F – Stokes
F – King
C – Pena

Off the bench

G – Redding
G – Cheeks
G – Wayns
F – Armwood
C – Yarou
C – Sutton

We may be the victims of riches. We could be looking at a 10 deep team with Sutton being a question mark. Like the starters as Fisher allows Reynolds to be an off the ball shooter (ala Gary Buchanon) which he may be better suited to. Fisher breaks it down to kick out to Reynolds, King, or Stokes. After bombing with threes you get the cut and slash guards coming off the bench with the big fella inside. I think this gives Jay an incredible amount of flexibility. He can go 4 guards, a traditional look, etc. Know it is early and we have a lot of frosh, but I really like the looks of this team. If they show the same heart as last years we should expect some very big things.

The one common thing I see across the board with this team is guys who can run. Even the big guys, and especially Sutton, can all run.

And finally, we should have decent depth down low. That’s going to be huge for this team, because for the first time, we don’t have an overflow of guards.

It really does stink though that the season is still months away. Just talking about it gets me excited.

Yesss,
Rebound and block shots, get the break started and finish on the secondary. Man do we have options.

Guys thanks this is great. I for one can’t wait for the season. Also our freshman will learn how to play defense the Villanova way. aka the Dwayne Anderson play in the UCLA game. You guys know what i am talking about. Thanks!
