Tim Chialastri of Capitol Hoops has a report from the DC Assault Take Your Best Shot’s Showcase. In case you didn’t know, DC Assault is an AAU team, so this was a showcase where AAU teams squared off against each other.

Chialastri reports on Class of 2011 prospect Juan’ya Green, a guard who is on Villanova’s radar. From the report, it sounds like the Philly product had a superb effort.
“The Philly bred point guard was dynamic this weekend scoring in a barrage of different manners. Green put up 26pts on day two and showed why the likes of Villlanova, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Temple and Syracuse are all after the 2011 guard from Archbishop Carroll HS in Philadelphia.”
I could be wrong, but I think the classification of Green as a point guard is wrong. I’ve heard he is more of an off-the-ball player, but if he can handle the ball, all the better. Green is a kid that is from Radnor, so he’s very familiar with Villanova. Right now it may be a bit early to think about who we might land in for his class, but he is definitely a kid to keep an eye on.

If Jay offers him a written scholarship, he’s coming to Villanova.
