I like Scottie a lot and really enjoy watching him play but there is 0% chance he makes the NBA. He would be too slow to play point and too short to play the 2 in the NBA. If he declares it's just to get some workouts in with some professional scouts and get some reviews on what he needs to work on. You guys mention Allan Ray and JJ Redick (ACC player of the year sr yr), they were both better than Scottie in college (nothing to be ashamed about).

and lets be honest, scoot turned the ball over a good number of times in the second half of the season and his shooting was not as pin-point as it can be. i wouldn't want the ball in anyone else's hands at the end of the game (not a difficult statement to make after Pitt), but i think hes gonna need to have a good senior year to have serious NBA consideration

The assessment of Scottie Reynolds' slim prospects of leaving early for the NBA are very realistic and shouldn't be criticized. There's little doubt he'll be paid to pay in some league but his senior season at Villanova might be the most important and could open up more opportunities.
Besides the NBA only vaguely resembles basketball as it's turned into part track meet / part freak show. Basketball skills and knowledge which are Scottie's strengths take a back seat to the 7'3" center or 43" vertical jumper in the NBA draft.
Why is everyone concerned about the NBA. I'd rather more players in the program like Scottie Reynolds than Tim Thomas who was a "one & done" and NBA lottery pick.

I never suggested he would be a superstar although he might be. To suggest he might not be NBA material is even excusable, But to itemize what you see as his perceived negatives without pointing out the positives is what riled me. I have been watching him play since he was a freshman in high school. Nobody wants it or deserves it more. If given the chance Brian, he will prove you very wrong.

Just to clarify, I personally like Scottie as a college basketball player, and I will be the first one to admit that Villanova would not be nearly as good as they are without him. With that being said, there are many guys who are great college basketball players, but have a tough time making it in the NBA (ex: Allan Ray, JJ Redick). I would love to see Allan Ray back on an NBA team, as well as Scottie make an NBA team, but it's just my opinion that he won't make one. I hope he proves me wrong.

Guys, ease up. Brain is entitled to his opinion. And he never said Scottie hasn't been huge for this program.

I definitely think Scottie Reynolds has enough skill to play in the NBA. Hell, if JJ Reddick can make a roster, Scottie Reynolds will certainly find somewhere to play.

I will say this though - his physical attributes aren't going to make the scouts fall over themselves. He's doesn't have great size for an NBA guard, that is definitely true.

And the biggest thing hurting him is that he doesn't have a true position. What is he? A PG or a SG? He can play both in college, but where does he translate at the next level?

He's a very good college player. Certainly one of my favorites. But the NBA is very much an above-the-rim type of game. And that is not Scottie's game at all.

So to think he will be an NBA superstar is blind. He has a future in the NBA, but he's not going to be an all-star year after year.

I jsut deleted Let's Go Nova from my favorites because there is so much hate over there and now this. What the heck are you talking about describing Scottie that way? Without him this team has none of the success it has had inthe past three years. While you are certainly entitled to you opinion, you make him seem terrible. Does he possess any positive attibutes from what you see?
