At least one Villanova blog thinks he is. Fact on Villanova Sports is reporting that Reynolds will be leaving school to enter the NBA Draft. The blogger, who goes by the handle Matsuflex, says that a “reliable source” of his has told him that Scottie will be entering the draft and not returning to school.
I’ve seen Reynolds listed anywhere from a late 1st round pick to undrafted, so this “news” doesn’t seem right. First of all, a red flag should be waived anytime a person says they have a “reliable source.” This isn’t a pay site like Rivals or Scout, where sources are usually credible. This is a blog run by a kid on campus (which is really no different from us).
Also, his reluctance in the comments to back up his claims (he goes on to say it is just speculation) tells us that this isn’t a fact, but a rumor. Even Blue Man! doubts the info, and he contributes to that blog. As he points out, if news this big were really true, it would have leaked out in several other places before a blog.
I hate to even post this, because it sounds like a stupid rumor that some kid heard and are running with it. If he’s right, he can brag about it. And if he’s wrong and Scottie stays, that’s great news. But it is getting some talk in the Villanova world, hence the post.
If this does turn out to have some truth to it, my guess is that Reynolds will enter his name in the draft, and not hire an agent. He’ll simply be testing the waters, trying to get a feel for what his stock is. And honestly, more power to him. He has every right to do that and he should do that. But my guess is that we’ll see Scottie in uniform for one last year come next season.

Really, it’s just irresponsible, and simply the next bullet point on the list of why blogs can suck.
