Last week the announcing pairings for the NCAA Tournament were released, and now the always reliable Awful Announcing has let us know what fans will suffer. cbs-sports-logo2

Philadelphia has drawn the team of Dick Enberg or Carter Blackburn and Jay Bilas. I’m not really sure what “or” means. Has Enberg been around so long that he can just show up if he’s in the mood? And I don’t recall ever hearing Blackburn call a game. But sign me up for Blackburn, because I’m no fan of Enberg.

Hard to be upset with Bilas. He loves ‘Nova and he’s always got great insight into the game regardless of what’s going on. Plus, him and Digger Phelps nearly brought Dick Vitale to tears last night. So he’s got years of free passes for that.

You gotta love Bilas:

“He pulls out the Duke card… He’s playing the Duke card on me! 5 minutes and 30 seconds in.. and he’s playing the DUKE CARD!”

hahaha ah classic

What is up with that response by Dickie V?

I have no idea Stan. He went nuts. If I’m being honest, yeah St. Mary’s should have been in, but no need to whine like that over it.

Plus I thought Bilas made a great point, if you are getting squeezed by a soft schedule then go play somebody else! The excuse that nobody will play you is crazy. Look at Gonzaga. One good year a while back and the next year and on their OOC schedule is always one of the best.

Bilas has a great point. Digger made a great point.

I just couldn’t believe the semi melt down by Vitale. I hope all is OK with him.
