No one will remember if we won the big east tournament. But everyone knows that we have made the NCAA tournament the last 6 years in a row. And for sure everyone knows we made it to the sweet 16 last year. BET is over and now all the hard work has paid off because we are in the big dance. Can’t wait for Thursday. Let’s go Nova!!!!

I agree Chris, since ‘05 Syracuse has 2 Big East (possibly 3 tonight) tournament championships and 0 NCAA tournament wins, meanwhile Nova has 7 NCAA wins over the same span.

I said it before…I love these guys but they make me crazy! Louisville whupped us in the second half, obviously… but, on the bright side…it didn’t have to be that way in my opinion.

In the first half as we began to build a margin, we were outplaying Louisville BUT Louisville was playing like crap (I think that is what pitino said on camera). At several points in the first half (even as we build a margin) I noted specifically that we were actually killing ourselves with terribly stupid turnovers and passes. We could have and should have had a 25 point lead at half time.

Then we could have covered our version of the baseball Giant’s “june swoon” – the Nova “second half gaffe.”

Second time recently that Jay left Dante on the bench as we went off a cliff….really dumb.

Having said all that…I look forward to the elite 8!

It is the next day. I still love these guys the morning after.

The 2nd halfs vs Marquette and then Louisville are very troubling.

I’m part of the school of thought that the BET doesn’t matter that much though. Yeah, it’s nice to win, but I’d rather do more in the NCAAs.

On WFAN yesterday they made the point about how Syracuse always plays well in the BET. How they go on these 3 and 4 day runs to the championship. But whenever they do that, they lose in the 1st round of the NCAA because they have no legs left.

So what would you rather have?

It helps that Wake lost (to a team nowhere near as good as Louisville). I think we stay a 3 in Philly. Washington losing also helps.

Guys its one loss. The world is not coming to an end. Yes we played a horrible 2nd half, but trust me Jay will have the boys ready either Thursday or Friday. Everyone needs to enjoy the weekend, we have earned our spot on Sunday night and there is more work to be done. Go Nova!!!

Couldn’t be said any better.

Not sure what that 2nd half was all about, and it is shocking to see how Stokes handled the press.

That was the blueprint to beating our team right there. Deny Scottie, let Fisher get himself into foul trouble, and pressure the ball. LVille combined that with taking advantage of our defensive overplaying to nail open 3s.

I hope our perimeter defense doesn’t rear it’s ugly head again in the tournament. Hopefully we end up in Philly with a nice regional that includes a lame #2 like Duke. Although… I’m starting to wonder if they’d be a nightmare of a match-up for us, which sickens me that I even think that.
