Brief Rundown: After closing out The Spectrum with a tremendous win over Pitt, the Wildcats return to campus to host Cincinnati. They’ll be looking for revenge after losing to the Bearcats in 2oo8.

Cincinnati is coming off a solid win over slumping Georgetown. Deonta Vaughn will look to stay hot after scoring 20 against the Hoyas. He dropped 25 on ‘Nova a year ago.

3 Keys to Victory:

  1. Contain Vaughn — Since A.J. Price’s outburst in Hartford, Villanova has been able to key in on players like Dominique Jones and DeJuan Blair and for the most part, neutralize them. Next up is Deonta Vaughn, the #1 option on a dangerous Cincinnati team. He put up 25 on ‘Nova a year ago. Don’t let it happen again.
  2. Push The Tempo – The Bearcats have a lot of bodies in the frontcourt, but their backcourt depth is less than spectacular. With the plethora of guards and big men who are willing to run, ‘Nova should push the pace as much as possible.
  3. Continued Progress All Around — In my mind, Villanova played a near perfect game against Pitt. Everyone contributed and looking back at that game, I can’t think of anyone who hindered the team effort. As a team, the Cats are coming around and starting to gel. If they continue their progress, they’ll win this game.
